A native of New York, conductor and pianist DAVID ARONSON completed his studies at the Manhattan School of Music and the Crane School of Music. His career began as a freelance répétiteur in New York City with further engagements in Kansas City and Miami. In 1978, he moved to Zurich, where in a very short time he became the assistant choir director and conductor at the Opernhaus Zurich. In 1982, he began his engagement as Kapellmeister in Lucerne where he conducted more than 40 operas, operettas and ballets. Furthermore he was a guest conductor in Darmstadt and Stuttgard as well as assisten to Herbert von Karajan at the Salzburg Festival. Since 1991, he is solo répétiteur and Kapellmeister at the Wiener Staatsoper. He is a sought-after continuo player and accompanist and regularly gives master classes and courses at the Vienna Conservatoire.
