Alex Martelli

The Italian-Dutch dancer Alex Martelli trained from 2012 to 2022 at the Accademia Antonella Bartolacci and the European School of Ballet (ESB), where he studied choreographies by Frederick Ashton, George Balanchine, Maurice Béjart, August Bournonville, John Cranko, David Dawson, Alexander Ekman, Jiří Kylián and Goyo Montero, among others. Since the 2024/25 season, he has been a member of the Youth Company of the Vienna State Opera Ballet Academy and has performed with the Vienna State Ballet as a guard in Christopher Wheeldon's The Winterʼs Tale and the friend of the fairy miettes qui tombent in Martin Schläpfer's The Sleeping Beauty. At the matinee of the Ballet Academy of the Vienna State Opera he danced in Martin Schläpfer's pas de deux Quartz.
His awards include the 3rd prize in the 'Senior Classical Men' category at the 2021 YAGP in Italy and the 1st prize in the 'Classical Senior' category at the 2022 International Talent Award.
