Ella Bogheanu

Born in Romania, Ella Bogheanu began taking ballet lessons at the age of five. She received her professional training at the Ballet Academy of the Vienna State Opera from 2016 to 2024. Her most important teachers include Diliana Nikiforova, Karen Henry, Vladimir Shishov, Robert Gabdullin and Lucian Necsea. During this time, she also attended summer courses at the La Sylphide Academic Ballet School, Bucharest, the Accademia Teatro alla Scala di Milano, the Royal Ballet School, Covent Garden, London and in Zurich. With the Ballet Academy of the Vienna State Opera she performed in numerous matinees, including Fairy Doll (after Marius Petipa), La Sylphide (after August Bournonville) and Nikiya in La Bayadère (after Marius Petipa). She also danced in Manuel Legrisʼ Le Corsaire at the Vienna State Opera. After graduating, Ella Bogheanu became a member of the Youth Company of the Ballet Academy of the Vienna State Opera in 2024/25. She has previously appeared in performances of Swan Lake (Rudolf Nureyev) and as the Coppélia puppet in Coppélia (Pierre Lacotte) with the Vienna State Ballet.
