Alain Altinoglu
Alain Altinoglu is Music Director of the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels, Chief Conductor of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony, and Artistic Director of the Festival International de Colmar in France. At both La Monnaie, where he has held this position since 2015, and the Frankfurt Radio Symphony, which he began leading in the 2021/22 season, he has received wide acclaim for his visionary leadership, compelling performances, and innovative programming. His first edition as Artistic Director in Colmar took place in 2023.
In the 2025/26 season, he will appear with the Frankfurt Radio Symphony at the Prague International Music Festival, the George Enescu International Festival, the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, the Dresden Music Festival, and the Kissinger Sommer, as well as on tour in Spain.
A highly sought-after opera conductor, he appears regularly at the Metropolitan Opera New York, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, La Scala Milan, the Vienna State Opera, Opernhaus Zürich, the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Berlin and Bavarian State Operas, as well as at all three opera houses in Paris. He has also appeared at the festivals of Bayreuth, Salzburg, Orange, and Aix-en-Provence.
