Andreas Grötzinger
Andreas Grötzinger was born in Gothenburg and grew up in Sweden, Switzerland, and Japan. He studied at the University of Basel and at the University of Music and Theatre Rostock, then spent fifteen years with Schauspiel Köln before joining the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg in 2013, where he has been a guest artist since 2016.
He has also appeared at Staatsoper Stuttgart, Schauspiel Frankfurt, Cologne Opera, Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus, Staatsschauspiel Dresden, NT Gent (Belgium), the city theatres of Uppsala and Malmö (Sweden), Deutsches Theater Berlin, and most recently at Volkstheater Wien in Peer Gynt.
Grötzinger has participated in numerous radio plays, television, and film productions, including Lars von Trier’s Nymphomaniac and Sabine Boss’s Jagdzeit. His stage debut after drama school was as the actor-Osmin in Hans Neuenfels’s Stuttgart production of Die Entführung aus dem Serail.
