Andrew Turner

Andrew Turner is from Tacoma, WA. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Voice from Washington State University and a Master of Music from the University of Illinois and has graduated from the Juilliard School in New York.

In the 2022/23 season, he sang the role of Miles Zegner in Missy Mazzoli's Proving Up and took on the cover role of Rinuccio in Puccini's Gianni Schicchi. In 2024, he sang the role of Eli in Gregory Spears' new opera The Righteous at the Santa Fe Opera, made his debut as Tybalt in Gounod's Romeo et Juliette at the Dallas Opera, and sang the title role in La Clemenza di Tito at the Juilliard School.

He made his debut at the Des Moines Metro Opera in 2019 as Parpignol in La Bohème and in 2021 sang the roles of Tchaplitsky in Pique Dame and Tobias Raggs in Sweeney Todd.

Andrew was a 2021/22 Resident Artist at Pittsburgh Opera. His roles included First Priest/ First armoured man (The Magic Flute), The Beloved/Horus (The Rose Elf), Policeman/The Man (In a Grove), Remendado (Carmen) and Policeman/Buddy #1 (Blue).

In 2024, he was a District & Regional Award Winner in the Metropolitan Opera’s Laffont Competition.

Since season 2024/25 he is a member of the Studio of the Vienna State Opera and was a scholarship holder of the Opera Foundation in his first studio year.

At the Vienna State Opera, he sang the roles of Borsa in Rigoletto, Third Squire in Parsifal, and Fourth Jew in Salome.
