Bekhzod Davronov
Born in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, Bekhzod Davronov studied at the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan before joining the Young Artists Program at the Bolshoi Opera in Moskow. He later became a soloist with the Bolshoi Theatre, where his repertoire included La traviata, Boris Godunow, The Tsar’s Bride, Iolanta and Il viaggio a Reims. In the current season, he makes notable house debuts at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden as Alfredo Germont in La traviata, and at the Polish National Opera in his role debut as Roméo in Roméo et Juliette. Recent roles include Rodolfo in La bohème (Semperoper Dresden and Dallas Opera), Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor (Semperoper Dresden), Duke of Mantua in Rigoletto and a festival debut as Roberto, Count of Leicester in Maria Stuarda in Salzburg. Bekhzod Davronov has been a guest at the Metropolitan Opera New York (La rondine), the Santa Fe Opera (La traviata), the Teatro di San Carlo and at the Prague State Opera. In 2021 he was awarded the Second Prize at Operalia. Previously, Davronov sang the role of Cassio in Otello at the Vienna State Opera. He returns here this season as Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor.
