Daniel K. Kurland
American conductor and pianist Dan K. Kurland is music coordinator of the Wiener Staatsoper’s venue NEST where he leads this production of Strauss 2225: Dances for the Future following last season’s premieres of Aschenputtel (Performance Series Oper Animiert) and Lee Miller in Hitler’s Bathtub. Later this season, he also serves as Conductor for Musketiere! at the NEST. He has performed extensively throughout Europe and North America, most recently on tour as orchestral pianist with Franz Welser-Möst and the Vienna Philharmonic. As graduate of the Juilliard School, he was previously on the music staffs of Germany’s Oper Halle and Theater Hagen.
