Enrique Mazzola
Born in Italy, ENRIQUE MAZZOLA is in demand worldwide as operatic and symphonic conductor, first and foremost of bel canto opera and French and contemporary repertoires. Since 2012, he has been artistic and music director of Orchestre National d’Île de France and, starting from the current season, principal guest conductor of Deutsche Oper Berlin. In recent years, he has been successfully conducting performances at the New York Met (L’elisir d’amore), Teatro alla Scala in Milan (Don Pasquale), Bolshoi Theatre (La sonnambula), Glyndebourne Festival (Poliuto), Zurich Opera House (Maria Stuarda, I puritani, Barbiere di Siviglia), Paris Théâtre des Champs-Elysées (L’ occasione fa il ladro, Il signor Bruschino, La cenerentola), Bregenz Festival (Mosè in Egitto), Lyric Opera in Chicago (Lucia di Lammermoor, I puritani), Maggio Musicale Fiorentino (L’italiana in Algeri) in Pesaro (La gazzetta) and at Deutsche Oper Berlin (L’Africaine, Le prophète). In the coming months, he can be seen and heard in Les Contes d’Hoffmann (Berlin), La Fille du régiment (Met) and Il turco in Italia (Zurich) amongst others.
