Hans-Peter König
HANS-PETER KÖNIG recieved his singing training in Dortmund and Düsseldorf. First artistic stations, after the opera studio in Zurich, were further operahouses in germany; he especially used the engagement at the Niedersächsischen Staatstheater Hannover to work on and develop his repertoire. A particular strength within his artistic ability lies with the big bass roles from Verdi and Wagner, among others Gurnemanz, King Henry, King Marke, Landgraf Hermann, Fasolt and Fafner, Hagen, Pogner and Daland as well as Zaccaria, Großinquisitor, Pater Guardiano and Fiesco. Further roles include Sarastro, Osmin, Rocco, Gremin, Wassermann and Boris Godunow. Since 2001/2002, Hans Peter König is a member of the enseble of the Deutschen Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf, where he was awarded the title of Kammersänger after his extraordinary achievements. He has also sung at the opera houses in Milan, New York, Barcelona, Paris, Berlin, Hamburg, Dresden, Munich, Stockholm, Tokyo, Baden-Baden and Sao Paolo as well as the Bayreuth Festival. In 2011, he sang at the guest performance of the Wiener Staatsoper at the Scala Rocco and gave his debut in 2015 as Daland in the House on the Ring.
