Hyuna Ko

HYUNA KO studied initially at the Han-Yang University in Seoul and later at the Musikhochschule in Cologne under KS Hans Sotin (graduating with honours). The Soprano has sung among others Cio-Cio San (Madama Butterfly) as well as the leaing roles in Das schlaue Füchslein, Margarethe in Faust, Mimì und Musetta in La Bohème, Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus, Kátja Kabánová, Rosalinde, Kátja Kabanová, Giorgetta in Il tabarro, Blumenmädchen in Parsifal. Hyuna Ko has performed among others at the Prinzregententheater in Munich, the Opera Houses Görlitz, Hildesheim and Eisenach, at the Richard Wagner Festival Wels, the International Musikfest Chiemgau, to the stage in Münster, the Staatstheater Schwerin as well as at the Vienna Volksoper. Currently, the artist is working on developing the Teen-Drama profession. Last year Hyuna Ko stood, among others, as Sieglinde along side of René Kollo in a concert performance of the first act of the Walküre in the Mercatorhalle Düsseldorf. In 2014 she gave her debut as Fuchs in The cunning little Vixen an der Semperoper Dresden and in 2015 she gave her debut als Maddalena di Coigny in Andrea Chénier at the National Opera Korea. Since 2013/2014 she is ensemble member of the Wiener Staatsoper, where she sang – among others – Adriana Lecouvreur, Fuchs, Cio-Cio-San, Ortlinde.
