Iván Ayon Rivas

Iván Ayón Rivas was born in Piura (Peru). At the age of twenty, he began his vocal studies, first at the National University of Music and later with Juan Diego Flórez and Roberto Sèrvile. Several competition prizes led in 2016 to his first international engagements, including at Teatro La Fenice in Venice and Teatro Regio in Turin, where he sang Rodolfo in La bohème for the 2016/17 season opening.

He made his debut at La Scala in Milan in 2021 and at the Vienna State Opera in 2023. His repertoire includes Alfredo in La traviata, Fenton in Falstaff, the Duke in Rigoletto, the title roles in Faust and Les Contes d’Hoffmann, Nemorino in L’elisir d’amore, and Tebaldo in I Capuleti e i Montecchi.

He has been invited to perform at Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, the Festival di Macerata, Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro Real in Madrid, as well as in Stuttgart, Brussels, Paris, and Valencia.

Future engagements include Les Contes d’Hoffmann in Lyon, Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni in Verona, the Duke in Rigoletto at the Royal Opera House in London and the Semperoper Dresden, Lenski in Eugene Onegin at Santa Fe Opera (USA), and Alfredo at La Scala in Milan.
