Javier Arrey

The Chilean baritone JAVIER ARREY was finalist of the renowned Cardiff Singer of the World competition in the year 2009 as well as winner of the CulturArte prize of Domingo´s Operalia competition in Moscow in the year 2011. He made is much-noticed debut as Jago (Otello) under the direction of Lorin Maazel at the Castleton Festival and sang the title role in Mozart´s Don Giovanni there one year later. Recent engagement for example include Marcello in La Bohème at the Washington National Opera, Sharpless in Madama Butterfly at the Teatro Municipal de Santiago, Alphonse in Donizetti´s La Favorite with the Washington Concert Opera, Masetto in Don Giovanni with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and in Carmina Burana with the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra. Furthermore, he will sing Lescaut on a Manon Lescaut recording under the direction of Plácido Domingo (Decca).
