John Osborn
The multi-award-winning American tenor JOHN OSBORN, named Singer of the Year 2024, has established an international reputation in the bel canto and French repertoire.
He has enjoyed great success at the Salzburg Festival, the Arena di Verona, the Paris Opéra, Opéra Bastille, Dutch National Opera, Bavarian State Opera, Zurich Opera, Semperoper Dresden, La Monnaie in Brussels, Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, the Liceu in Barcelona, the Aalto Theater in Essen, the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, Theater an der Wien, and in Geneva, Frankfurt, Rome, and Naples. His roles have included Roméo (Roméo et Juliette), Léopold (La Juive), Raoul (Les Huguenots), Jean de Leyde (Le prophète), Werther, Des Grieux (Manon), Hoffmann, Nadir (Les pêcheurs de perles), Polyeucte (Les Martyrs), Faust (both Gounod and Berlioz), and the title role in Benvenuto Cellini.
Future projects include Benvenuto Cellini in Brussels, Werther in Frankfurt, Jean de Leyde in Paris, the Duke (Rigoletto) in Marseille, and Pollione (Norma) at the Savonlinna Festival.
John Osborn made his debut at the Vienna State Opera in 2008 as Count Almaviva (Il barbiere di Siviglia) and has since appeared there as Arturo Talbo (I puritani), Faust, Pollione, Arnold (Guillaume Tell), Arrigo (I vespri siciliani), and Hoffmann (Les Contes d’Hoffmann).
