Kerstin Feig
After her studies at the Palucca Schule Dresden, Kerstin Feig danced for many years at the theatre in Gera and attended regularly summer courses in Berlin and Dresden. After finishing her dancing career, she worked in Gera as rehearsal director and ballet master, before she was appointed deputy ballet director in 2000. From 2002 to 2005 she was ballet master with Introdans in Arnhem, the Netherlands. When Martin Schläpfer engaged her as a ballet master and assistant with his ballettmainz in 2005, the basis was laid for many years of intensive collaboration. At the Dutch National Ballet Amsterdam, Kerstin Feig accompanied Martin Schläpfer in his restaging of »Streichquartett«. From 2009 to 2020, she supervised many of his world premieres and rehearsals as a ballet master of the Ballett am Rhein Düsseldorf Duisburg. Kerstin Feig has also worked with numerous important choreographers, including Nils Christe, Nacho Duato, William Forsythe and Jiří Kylián. She is a close artistic partner for Hans van Manen, whose »Frank Bridge Variations« she restaged with Zurich Ballet in 2010. For the first time Kerstin Feig will be a guest of the Vienna State Ballet for the restaging of »Adagio Hammerklavier« in 2020.
