Lilly Jørstad

The Norwegian mezzo soprano LILLY JØRSTAD was born in Astrachan (Russia) and for example studied at the Conservatory of her hometown, at the University of Tromsø, at the Luigi Cherubini Conservatory in Florence and at the Accademia Teatro alla Scala. Furthermore, she took master classes for example with Leo Nucci, Ruggero Raimondi, Renato Bruson and Luciana D’Intino. Several prizes at international competitions soon drew experts´ attention to the young singer. In 2012 she made her debut at the Rossini Festival in Pesaro as Marchesa Melibea and Modestina in Il viaggio a Reims under Alberto Zedda, the same year she presented herself to the audience as soloist in St. Petersburg. In 2014 she sang Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro) at the Nordnorsk Opera, Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia) and Angelina (La cenerentola) in Ferrara and gave a concert at the Maggio Musicale in Florence. In 2015, she achieved a great success debuting at La Scala in Milan as Rosina. Shortly afterwards, she also performed Rosina at the Teatro Argentina in Rome, at the Bergen International Festival and at the Nordnorsk Opera. Furthermore, Lilly Jørstad has performed as concert and oratorio singer at numerous international festivals.
