Olivier Coëffard

Olivier Coëffard was born in Carcassonne in the South of France. He studied at the Conservatoire National de Danse d’Avignon and started his dancing career at the Europa Danse Company in Brussels at the age of 17. He continued dancing with the Dantzaz Kompania in Spain and the Malandain Ballet Biarritz. In 2010 he joined the prestigious Nederlands Dans Theater, at first the NDT 2 under the direction of Gerald Tibbs and the care of Urtzi Aranburu. He followed his path at the NDT 1 under the direction of Paul Lightfoot. Currently he takes on various tasks as a freelancer and is constantly looking for different challenges and projects, from acting to dancing. Furthermore, he develops as a coach and teacher around the world for schools and dance companies. In 2019, Olivier Coëffard started as a member of the Kylián foundation to stage his ballets. He continued to work for other prestigious choreographers such as Paul Lightfoot and Sol León, whose piece »Source of Inspiration« he is staging with the Vienna State Ballet for the »Nureyev Gala« in June 2022.
