The artistic work of PHILIPPE AUGUIN was already coined during his studies in Vienna and Florence with two eminent personalities; he was musical assistant to Herbert von Karajan and later a close associate of Sir György Solti. For many years, he has worked regularly with leading opera houses such as the Met, the Sca­la, the ROH Covent Garden London, the Bayerische Staatsoper, the Deutschen Oper Berlin, the Hamburgische Staatsoper as well as the Los Angeles Opera, the Sydney Opera House and the Grand Théâtre de Genève. Numerous commitments have taken him to major festivals such as the Salzburg Festival, the Ravenna Festival, the Schleswig-Holstein Musikfestival, the Beethovenfest Bonn, the Hong-Kong Festival, the Musiksommer Bad Kissingen or the Sydney Olympic Festival. For the Vienna State Opera, he conducted Salome at a guest performance concert in Zaragoza in April 2007. At the house on the Ring, he gave his debut in 2008 as conducting the revival of Die tote Stadt, and continued to conduct among others, La forza del destino, Manon Lescaut, La Bohème, Tosca, Simon Boccanegra and Un ballo in maschera.
