Simon O`Neill

Award-winning SIMON O´NEILL is a native of New Zealand and has established himself as one of the leading helden-tenors in the world.  He is a graduate of the University of Otago, Victoria University of Wellington, Manhattan School of Music and Juilliard Opera Center and sings regularly at the New York Metropolitan Opera, Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, Berlin, Hamburg und Bayerische Staatsoper, Teatro alla Scala in Milan and at the Salzburg, Bayreuth, Edinburgh and the BBC Proms festivals. Most recently, he sang Siegfried in Houston and Edinburgh, Siegmund at Bayerische Staatsoper and in Edinburgh, Drum Major in Hamburg, Cavaradossi at New Zealand Opera, Boris (Kátja Kabanová) at Berlin Staatsoper. He is planning appearances as Emperor (Frau ohne Schatten) at Berlin Staatsoper, Tannhäuser and Calaf at Deutsche Oper Berlin, Siegmund at Oper Leipzig and Calaf in Tokyo. At Vienna State Opera, he has so far sung Siegmund and Parsifal. Simon O’Neill is Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit.
