Vadim Muntagirov

Vadim Muntagirov was born in Chelyabinsk (Russia) and trained at the Ballet Academy in Perm as well as at the Royal Ballet School in London. 2009 he joined the English National Ballet where he was appointed First Soloist in 2010, Principal Dancer in 2011 and Lead Principal Dancer in 2012. 2014 he joined the Royal Ballet as Principal Dancer. As a guest artist he has danced with such companies as the Ballet of the des Mariinsky-Theatre, American Ballet Theatre, National Ballet of Japan, Bavarian State Ballet, Cape Town City Ballet und at the Mikhailovsky Theatre. With the Wiener Staatsballett he was dancing so far Conrad in Manuel Legris’ Le Corsaire, Prinz Siegfried in Rudolf Nureyev’s Schwanensee and Armand in Frederick Ashton’s Marguerite and Armand at the Nurejew Gala 2018.

Awards and honours: 2011 Outstanding Male Performance (Classical), Prix Benois de la Danse (2013 and 2019) and Best Male Dancer at the Critics’ Circle National Dance Awards (2015).
